Waiting In The Wings: Fred Thompson

Hey, Fred! Stay there, will ya?

The last thing we need in this country is another actor in the White House.

Somehow the thought of that just does not inspire any confidence, in this American, that he won't be reading from another Rovian/NeoCon script, which has little to do with reality or the well-being of this country.

Forget it!

Give me authenticity or give me a stun-gun to use on the next SOB that lies to me from a g--damned podium.!

Waiting In The Wings: Fred Thompson, The "Law And Order" Star And Ex-Senator Could Give GOP Presidential Hopefuls A Tough Fight - CBS News:

That gritty, growly voice as the district attorney in 'Law and Order' and his 6-foot-6-inch presence in movies like 'The Hunt For Red October' have made Fred Thompson an A-list celebrity in Hollywood.

He even snagged the role of commander-in-chief in 'Last Best Chance,' a TV movie about terrorists acquiring nuclear weapons.

Now some are hoping he'll take on that job — for real.

CBS Evening News Saturday anchor Thalia Assuras reports.
