Junior's grandpa and the attempted Junta against Roosevelt

Domestically Junior is trying to accomplish what his grandfather could not: Make the New Deal and, now, the Great Society just a fading memory.

Sometimes I do believe that we have reached a point is this country where we can no longer remain a union as we are today. For over well three generations we have fought over this one thing:
Communism vs. Corporatism; the people vs the bottom-line feeders in the corporate world, while most of the rest of the civilized world has reached a compromise involving a political system of Democracy and some form of Socialist Capitalism.

Maybe Lincoln didn't really do us any big favors by keeping the union together.

Prescott Bush

Prescott Bush was linked to the coup plot as the manager of a shipping company that presumably ferried pro-German propagandists to the fatherland and Nazi spies back to the United States.

Back in the 1930s a general by the name of Smedley Butler exposed a plot to overthrow the government of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and install a fascist oligarchy backed by some of America’s most powerful business leaders and conservatives. Prescott Bush, grandfather of George W., was among those linked to the plan. BBC Radio investigates.

BBC:

The coup was aimed at toppling President Franklin D Roosevelt with the help of half-a-million war veterans. The plotters, who were alleged to involve some of the most famous families in America, (owners of Heinz, Birds Eye, Goodtea, Maxwell Hse & George Bush’s Grandfather, Prescott) believed that their country should adopt the policies of Hitler and Mussolini to beat the great depression.

Mike Thomson investigates why so little is known about this biggest ever peacetime threat to American democracy.

The Nazis, Fascists and Communists were political parties before they became enemies of liberty and mass murderers.
